Fred Mackay was a patrol padre in the Australian Inland Mission 1935-1941 and worked with the Reverend John Flynn whom he succeeded as Superintendent of Australian Inland Mission Letter, 1886 and photograph; the remainder of the collection chiefly comprises letters and telegrams of congratulation on McKay's appointment as Superintendent of the Australian Inland Mission.
When this record survey was undertaken during the mid-1980s, access to these items was said to be restricted and applications were required to the Very Reverend F. McKay, Sydney.
