Summary

Records 1891-1973. Records are of the Federal Council, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australian and Tasmanian Divisions; there are five deposits comprising 193 linear feet. Federal Council records span 1895-1954 and contain minutes of meetings, financial, general and arbitration records. The Queensland organization, the Locomotive Enginemen, Firemen and Cleaners' Association decided to join the federal union soon after the formation of the A.F.U.L.E. in 1920. The branches of the old L.E.F. & C.A. were re-organized around regional divisions - Northern, Central, South Western and Southern, Queensland Divisional records are as follows:
