Summary

Notes and transcripts relating to the discovery and early history, with special reference to North and South Australia. Pages are numbered 312-671 but many are missing, as also are pp.1-311. Bonwick used recto only. His notes include an annotated collection of tracings of early maps showing north Australia. A rough but almost complete list of the items is written on a covering card signed and apparently compiled by C.C. Deland. Three items are added by another hand. Deland's list includes an item not written by Bonwick: 'MSS by S.L. being copy of Flinders' Journal'. ROYAL GEOGRAPHIC SOCIETY MS.12C.
