Summary
The Helpman Journals, 1837-1840. E.M. Christie gives biographical information and extracts and comments from journals kept on the Beagle, 1837-1840. During this period the Beagle was involved in the Australian Survey; on the third survey voyage commencing May 1839 some observations were made along the Queensland coast, en route for the north western shores of the continent.
