Retail butcher and politician, M.L.A. for Keppel 1912-1929, M.L.A. for Rockhampton 1932-1955, held a number of cabinet portfolios in various Labor governments, including Attorney-General for Queensland from 1950-1952. Collection of letters, notes, speeches, relating mainly to the political career of James Larcombe Subjects include many aspects of Federal and state politics, education, elections, the banking system, taxation, social services and also T.J. Ryan. Larcombe was considered an expert on the poetry of Robert Bums, and the collection includes material relating to his interest in Robert Bums, and to poetry in general. Three boxes.
