Summary
Diaries, 1893-1900. Mercer-Smith also referred to as S.M. Smith, was a maritime pilot who held certificates to operate from all the major Queensland coastal ports. In January 1893 he was appointed Government Agent on board the Pacific Island Labour vessels, and his diaries relate to this service, January 1893-July 1900.
