Summary
Papers 1862-1912. Born at Antigua, West Indies; after prominent service in the West Indies, Canada, Natal and South Australia, Musgrave was appointed Governor of Queensland in July 1883, which post he held until his death in October 1888. His term spanned a significant period in Queensland history, coinciding with the premierships of Sir Samuel Griffith and Sir Thomas Mcllwraith, the issues of federation. White Australia and the Annexation of New Guinea. The papers of Sir Anthony Musgrave cover the period 1862-1912, and are on microfilm. One reel, copied by the Joint Copying Project.
