Born in New South Wales in 1895, on leaving school Nicklin took up fruit farming in south-eastern Queensland and later played a prominent role in the organization of the Queensland fruit industry. He entered parliament in 1932, was Leader of the Opposition 1941-1957, and Queensland Premier 1957-1968. The collection includes correspondence and newspaper cutting books. 16 boxes.
