Papers, ca.1884-ca.1931. Geographer, founder of Royal Geographical Society of Australasia, Queensland 1885; President of the Society 1894-1897. Collection of correspondence, manuscripts of books, articles and speeches, accounts, pamphlets, newspaper extracts, photographs etc. relating to the life and career of James Park Thomson. Includes a letterbook 1891-1895, and two volumes of press extracts. Much of the collection relates to Thomson's work with the Royal Geographic Society of Australasia, Queensland, and to his work in the field of Australian Geography.
