Summary

Miscellaneous records. Irish born prospector and explorer arrived in Victoria 1860, and after a variety of occupations took part in the Gilberton gold rush in 1871, and the Etheridge rush in 1873. In that year Mulligan led a party which made the find initiating the opening of the Palmer River gold field. He continued exploration and his discoveries included tin on the Wild River and also the Hodgkinson gold field.
