Summary
Ships' log 1792-1793. Log kept by Matthew Flinders, who sailed as midshipman on board H.M.S. Providence, 24 February 1792-10 February 1793, with charts and eyesketches, pp.366. The Providence under the command of William Bligh sailed to the Pacific on Bligh's second mission to collect breadfruit plants from Tahiti. Survey work was carried out in the Torres Straits during the return voyage to England. Photocopy of original held Public Records Office, London. MITCHELL: A.4055.
