Summary
Journal, 1848-1849. John Griffith was mate on the voyage of the Ariei 1848-1849; during this period the schooner under Captain Dobson sailed from Sydney to Cape York to rendezvous with the overland expedition led by Edmund Kennedy, at Port Albany. Here the ship's company met the Aborigine Jackey Jackey, the only member of the expedition to reach Port Albany, in December 1848.
