Summary
Papers ca.1873-1876. Reverend Howard came to New South Wales in 1872 under the patronage of Bishop Frederick Barker. In 1876 he accompanied the Bishop on his first tour of north Queensland as his chaplain. After completing a B.A. degree at Cambridge in 1878, Howard returned to Australia and became first resident rector at Bowral, New South Wales. Collection includes Item I No.B, letters, 10 August 1873-16 August 1876, from Australia to his family in England, written in diary form. MITCHELL: ML.MSS.1595.
