Biographical entry: Littleton, Henry Stuart
Summary
Correspondence 1877-1879. Henry Littleton was born in 1844, the son of Baron Hatherton, came to Australia from England and purchased a property in Queensland in approximately 1866. He later became private secretary to Sir Hercules Robinson, Governor of New South Wales. Whilst holding this position he travelled to New Zealand, before his return to England in 1879. Letters to his parents, from Henry Littleton, including descriptions of an expedition into the Queensland outback 1877-1878, and of social life in Sydney 1878-1879, and Wellington 1879.
