Party: Murphy and Bradley Families

Summary

Papers, 1834-1921. John Murphy accompanied Ludwig Leichhardt's expedition to Port Essington in 1944. His sister married J.O. Bradly, a business partner of her brother John and father James Murphy. Edward Bradly, presumably the son of J.O. Bradly, was employed by Sydney Burdekin, and managed the Burdekin Estate after his employer's death.

i. Certificate creating Ludwig Leichhardt an honorary member of the Sydney Mechanic's School of Arts, 2 April 1846.

B. Miscellaneous papers, 1845-1856.

Including letters from James Murphy 24 March 1845, and copies of a poem by R. Lynd on Leichhardt's supposed death in 1845.

II. Burdekin Family, 1851-1899.
