The journal refers to landings on Murray Island 2-7 June 1827, with an excerpt transcribed from a 'London magazine of April 1757', regarding the insectivorous plant, Nepenthes. Includes sketches. Contains detailed description of the natives, their customs and social life, with a profile sketch of the island, a sketch of a native musical instrument and two sketches of Nepenthes. One portfolio.
