Summary

Diary 1860, manuscript [1887]. John Mackay led an expedition to north Queensland from Armidale In New South Wales, which resulted in the discovery of the Pioneer Valley in 1860. The future port of Mackay was named in honour of John Mackay. Copy of the original diary 16 January-26 July 1860. The original is in the hands of Mrs Helen McCrossin, Uralla.
