QUEENSLAND BRANCH, CENTRAL DISTRICT COUNCIL.

Records, 1910-1966. The Central District Council was established in 1910 when the Queensland Branch of the Australasian Federated Butchers' Employees' Union regionalised government in order to overcome problems caused by widely scattered meatworks and poor communications. The Council is responsible for the area around Rockhampton. The Union became the Australasian Meat Industry Employees' Union in 1912.
