Family: Burt Family, Burdekin Downs

Summary

Items: two boxes. Shelf Location: 4R. The Burt family operate Burdekin Downs cattle stations in the Charters Towers District. Mr Howard Burt an American citizen came to Australia as a serviceman during the Second World War and married Elizabeth Salmon of Burdekin Downs. The station was one of the first runs settled in the area during the squatting rush of 1861, by Edward Cunningham.
