Cultural Artefact: Hawton-De Castres Records

Summary

Items: one box, one package. Shelf Location: 69L. The de Castres family settled in Charters Towers in the nineteenth century where Albert de Castres operated a softdrink factory. Mrs May Hawton, nee de Castres who donated these records, combined with photographs held in the Delamothe Photograph Collection is the relict of Russell Hawton, former shire clerk of the Dalrymple Shire Council, and member of the Townsville Harbour Board.
