Anne Isabel Jenkins was a member of the expedition led by William Lane which left Australia for Paraguay in the late nineteenth century, to found the Colonia Nueva Australia. With the failure of the colony she returned to Sydney with her husband whom she had married in Paraguay; they finally settled in Charters Towers.
