Summary
Items: six boxes, several volumes, maps and plans. Shelf Location: 75R-77. A collection of documents found in the old Town Hall in Flinders Street, Townsville, during its demolition in April 1978, after being damaged by fire. The documents originate principally in the City Engineer's Department, but some represent other areas of Council administration. Much of the materials is fire or water damaged, and some is very fragile.
T.C.C. Plans, 1. Comprises 11 sets of plans pressed between boards; includes 45 building plans submitted to the City Engineer for approval, 1912-1954. Buildings include the North Queensland Newspaper Company office, Regent Theatre, Thoracic and Pathological Block Townsville Hospital, C. Hanson & Sons shop, Sturt Street, alterations to the Federal and Queensland Hotels, and Heatley Bros shop, Flinders Street, two open air picture theatres, a building for McKimmin & Richardson, and additional shops, service stations, store rooms and private residences.
