Summary
Joseph Hodel, (1850-1922), came to Townsville 1870, after following various vocations became chairman of directors of the North Queensland Newspaper Co., Townsville city alderman, and mayor 1895, later Thuringowa Shire Councillor, and M.L.C. 1914-1922. Postcards of north Queensland, sent to the Hodel family from Charters Towers, Herberton, Johnstone River, Thursday Island and elsewhere, from ca.1907. Newspaper excerpts inserted. 16 postcards, 1 album, negatives held.
