Diary kept in Port Denison by a member of the merchandise company Marsh and Webster also of Mackay. Diary entries cover events in Bowen with particular attention to shipping activities and happenings on the pastoral frontier. Charles Webster managed the Warry and Marsh business in Bowen and then in Mackay; he later bought them out and subsequently took Marsh on as a partner. Also included is a portrait of Charles Webster photocopied from the Marsh and Webster 75th Anniversary Souvenir booklet. FB.95.

MEMO BOOK, Bowen Police Office, September 1887-December 1907, entries hand written and pasted. Contains General Orders from the Police Commissioners Office, Brisbane, miscellaneous entries relating to all aspects of local police operations. FB.275.

THESIS, Otto Cserhalmi: Francis Clarke Architect 1801-1884, his life, works and family. Bachelor of Architecture degree thesis, University of New South Wales, 1974, illus., 2 vols. Francis Clarke trained in London before migrating to Sydney where he designed a number of Churches. He later moved to Bowen, where he became the township's first Mayor, and some of Bowen's early street planning and Churches were of his design. FB.290.
