Summary

Cloncurry Divisional Board was established in 1884, and became Cloncurry Shire in 1903. The establishment of the Mount Isa Shire in 1962 reduced the area of the Cloncurry Council. Some records were destroyed by fire in the 1930s.

Photographs, 2 main collections, comprised of 1. photographs relating to the Flying Doctor Service and Qantas Airways in western Queensland, supplied by the Public Affairs Department of Qantas, Sydney, in 1976; and 2. a large collection of some 150 prints, covering Cloncurry and district, including portraits of Council Chairmen. Both collections have been copied for the Delamothe Collection of North Queensland History.

Valuation registers, also rate books covering Water, Sanitation and Rental, February 1908-ca.1951, some 70 vols, an additional 3 vols are stored in the Council attic.

Wages sheet, Council employees, July 1926-December 1931, 1 vol.

Water Authority register, loan funds receipt books, cash books, from 1923, some 20 vols, damaged.

A small collection of maps and town surveys of Mt Isa, Cloncurry and district are also held.
