Summary
The Shire Council was established in 1910, and takes in the centres of Malanda, Milla Milla, Puramon, Tarzali and Yungaburra. The Shire Clerk advised, that Council records were almost complete from 1910, these included minutes of meetings, correspondence (some gaps before 1920), cash and rate books. Current records were held in the Council office, whilst the remainder of the collection were well ordered, and stored in the old Council office. A large collection of local historical photographs was held in a metal trunk. The Council published a commemorative history, The Jubilee Booklet of Historical Data - Eacham Shire, by Mr. Jack May a former Shire Clerk [ca.1961].
