Summary
Marian mill is situated in the Pioneer Valley 27 kilometres west of Mackay. The original mill was established in 1885 but closed shortly afterwards. Under the Sugar Works Guarantee Act of 1893, the Marian Central Mill Co. Ltd, erected a new plant in 1894, and crushing commenced the following year. In 1966 shareholders voted to sell the assets and liabilities of the company to local suppliers, who formed the Marian Mill Co-operative Society Limited.
