Summary
The mill was established in 1896, being one of the eleven mills erected under the provisions of the Sugar Works Guarantee Act of 1893 on money advanced by the government and repaid over a period of years. A coverage of mill records was not possible, however, office staff advised that little historical material was held. An illustrated history The Mulgrave Central Mill Co. Ltd, Fifty Years in Retrospect, was published in 1947 to commemorate the golden jubilee of the mill.
