Summary

The archivist of the Order advised that holdings at St Scholastica's are limited. The Sisters of the Good Samaritan have been involved with Schools and convents in north Queensland from 1900, in Ayr, Brandon, Charters Towers, Hughenden, Innisfail and East Innisfail, Millchester, South Johnstone, Townsville and Tully, and also in institutions in central Queensland. In 1968 a publication of the history of the Order was printed for limited circulation, entitled Annals. This was compiled from written records, documents, letters, newspaper extracts and memoirs, held and collected by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan. In addition Sister Delia Birchley had done extensive research throughout the houses of the Order in North Queensland and she will be publishing an illustrated history of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan in this region, in the near future. A centenary publication Wheeling Years, has also been printed.
