The archives are housed in the office strong room, library and library store room; they contain a large quantity of primary and secondary source material relating to the Presbyterian Church in Brisbane and throughout Queensland. Records include:

Minutes of meetings: Presbyterian National General Assembly, 1901+.

Minutes of meetings: General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Queensland, including school and mission reports and financial statements, 1863-present, printed bound and single copies.

Minutes of Queensland presbytery meetings: (including Townsville), 1886-1968, 3 vols.

Minutes of meetings, Christian Education, Social Mission Committees, and of the Board of Investment and Finance, n.d.

Minutes of local congregation meetings (including Hughenden 1913-1919, Cloncurry 1917-1939, Townsville, St. Pauls' Parish 20th Century).

Correspondence and minutes of meetings: Aboriginal Mission Committee (formerly entitled Heathen Missions Committee) Aurukun, Mapoon, Mornington Island, Thursday Island, Weipa, considerable collection, from ca.1900.

Correspondence, Home Mission Stations (small congregations unable to support an ordained minister, served by a lay minister), comprising correspondence files and letter books, large holdings 1908-ca.1975.

Some Marriage registers from 1856, including records from country parishes.

Cutting books containing extracts relating to the Presbyterian Church in Queensland, 20th Century, several vols.

Annual Year Book, Presbyterian Church of Australia, 1918-1976, incomplete.

The collection includes vertical file drawers arranged as follows:

1. Parish files, records from parishes throughout Queensland, including Townsville; written and printed material.

2. School files, they include records of Blackheath and Thornborough Colleges, Charters Towers from ca.1930, e.g. school prospectuses, Blackthorn Magazine, photographs.

3. Australian Inland Mission records, including early copies of The Inlander.

The photograph collection includes portraits and groups, Church and school leaders, buildings, significant events in Church affairs, a considerable collection, held in albums and as single prints. The Presbyterian Church archives are partially organized and indexed. Intending researchers should advise in advance of their proposed visit and study programme. The archives are open Monday-Friday 9.00am-5.00pm, photocopying and study facilities are available. Researchers should note that the principal manuscripts relating to the Australian Inland Mission in Queensland, held in a public institution, are housed in the National Library of Australia, Canberra.
