August 1904-26 June 1931 founded by W.G. Henderston, later entitled Atherton News and Barron Valley Advocate; in 1931 the Johnstone River Advocate proprietary purchased this paper and its rival the Tableland Examiner and thereafter published one Atherton newspaper The Tableland Examiner.
