The extreames of the land to the southward which we took for Cape S.^t Thomes bore S3/4W distant 4 Leagues, the land from Cape S.^t Thomes to the Northward lies NBE1/2E, Along the shore is lowland covered with wood, and sandy beaches, but inland are very high mountains the greatest part of them being hid in the clowds. Stood off untill 5 in the morning East and EBS. depth of water 10, 20, l6, 23, and 30 f^m At Noon Lat.^d observed 21°..30', depth of water 14 f^m grey sand with black specks, extreames of the land from SWBW to NNW distant 12 or 14 Leagues.
