12 March 1770 Monday 12th Fresh Gales between the West and NW, latter part Squally with rain: Stood to the SWBS untill 11AM at which time the wind Shifted to the SWBW, we wore and Stood to the NNW, being then in the Latitude of 47°..40' So and in the Longitude 193°..50' - West haveing a hollow sea from the ^South west
