QUARTER-CLOTHSQUARTER-CLOTHS, (bastingage, Fr.) long pieces of painted canvas, extended on the outside of the quarter-netting from the upper part of the gallery to the gangway. They are generally decorated with martial instruments, or allegorical figures.
