CLAIRON, a clear spot in a cloudy sky.

CLAMP, a sheave, or small wheel, placed in a mortise, as in the foot of a top-mast, to pass a rope through.

CLAN, a mortise or hole cut in a plank, mast, &c. lengthwise, to admit a sheave.
