Henry Stevens gave his place of origin as Falmouth when he joined the crew of HMS Endeavour on 22 June 1768 as an Able Bodied Seaman. Nothing is known about Stevens beyond the fact that he was punished with a dozen lashes for refusing his allowance of fresh beef on 16 September 1768. He was also given a dozen lashes after stealing tubers from a Maori garden plot on 30 November 1769. |
