The South Seas Companion is an encyclopaedic reference guide to the history of European voyaging and cross-cultural encounters in the Pacific during the years between 1760 and 1800. Within the companion, you will find information about people, places and many other aspects of the history of the Pacific in the second half of the eighteenth century. Many Companion entries have galleries providing access to digital copies of rare historical images and maps held in the collections of the the National Library of Australia.
