Thomas Dunster was a Private of Marines. He was one of the twelve Marines who joined HMS Endeavour on 16 August 1768.

Dunster was punished with a dozen lashes on 16 September 1768 for refusing to eat the 'fresh beef' taken on board at Funchal, Madeira, the previous day.
