Neap Tide |
| Neap tides are those tides where there is least difference between the heights of high and low tide. They occur twice a month, in the first and third quarters of the moon, and are caused by the position of the sun and the moon in relation to the earth being such that the gravitational pull of the sun counteracts the pull of the moon. |
