This species of petrel grows to a body length of just over 30 centimeters. The breast, head, neck and back are a speckled gray, while the face and tail are white. The underside of this petrel's wings have black bands. Mottled Petrels live on small fish and squid. They breed in cliffs and rock crevices on islands off southern South America, New Zealand and southern Australia. |
