27. Wind came to the northward and we got some little westing, possibly today we were to the westward of the cape, at least a great swell from the NWt makes it certain that we were to the Southward of it. Many large albatrosses

were about the ship whose backs were very white; at noon a shag

came on board the ship and was taken. [
