Moderate breezes and fine clear weather - at 2PM sounded and had 86 fathom black sand and small stones - Variation 21°..57' Et   At 1/2 past 10 Tack'd having stood South 12 Leagues, after standing to the Westward 14 Miles sounded and had 80 fathom black grey sand, 3 Leagues farther 76 fathom coarse black sand ^Tacked, and at Noon had 70 fathom black gravel and small Stones of different Colours — Saw several flights of black Sheer waters —
