LAND-LOCKED to LASHINGLAND-LOCKEDLAND-LOCKED, (bouclé, Fr.) the situation of a ship which is environed by the land on all sides in a road, bay, or haven; so as to exclude the prospect of the sea, unless over some intervening land. See the French word terre, and the phrases following it.
