LIGHT-ROOM
LIGHT-ROOM, (fanal de soute, Fr.) a small apartment, inclosed with glass windows, near the magazine of a ship of war. It is used to contain the lights by which the gunner, and his assistants, are enabled to fill the cartridges with powder, to be ready for action.
