Searching South Seas

You can search all of South Seas using our 'Site Search' facility, which appears on all introductory pages within the site. Alternatively, you can restrict your searching to Cook's journal and other works by using the search facility that can be accessed on each page of the particular text you are reading.

Our edition of the Endeavour journals can not only be searched by entering keywords but also explored using an 'Advanced Search' page. This advanced search facility allows you to see the occurrence of references to people, places and things in chronological order.

The search facility of the South Seas Companion can likewise be searched on keywords. However, it is also designed so that you can find multiple references to people and places.

A multimedia based guide to searching is currently being produced and will be linked to this page in early 2004.
