RAILS of the headRAILS of the head, certain curved pieces of timber, extending from the bows on each side to the continuation of the ship's stem, to support the knee of the head, and the ornamental figure fixed thereon. The former of these rails is represented at large in the figure referred to from the article HEAD, plate IV.
